Supporting your path to embodied healing.

exists on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples. I acknowledge these Nations, and any other recorded or unrecorded Nations who have and continue to care for this land that I am grateful to move and work upon.
My Path
Years ago, at a health consultation, I was asked a trauma related question that caused me to reflect on the connection of the mind and body. It completely confounded me yet, it stayed with me. As soon as I returned home I opened my laptop and began to research trauma and the body. Eventually, I ended up on the same info page of a Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) program I had discovered years earlier. Back then, someone had suggested that I may be interested in learning about and perhaps becoming a practitioner of this therapeutic modality but, it didn’t completely land with me at the time. Although it feels as if the idea took a seat in the recesses of my mind, patiently waiting for me to return to it. Now, I was having a big “aha moment.”
My Practice
Today, I’m a Registered Psychotherapist, Dance/Movement Psychotherapist, and Certified Reiki Master Practitioner.
My therapeutic approach is client-centred, allowing us to make sense of your lived experience together collaboratively, within a relational, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed framework. As a holistic practitioner, I integrate talk therapy and cognitive approaches with psycho-spirituality, expressive arts and somatic (body-oriented) modalities informed by Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy® (SP), and Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) training.

Dance/Movement Therapy Session
Based on the premise that thoughts, feelings and the experience of self are expressed through the body and movement. Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) is a relational process that integrates emotional, cognitive, physical and social aspects of self.
Elements of dance are applied as a framework for exploration, discovery, learning and change. DMT focuses on movement behaviour as it emerges in the therapeutic relationship, and simultaneously serves as a means of assessment and a mode of intervention.
